According to YouTube, advertisers have shown interest in the new ad feature. This gave YouTube the motivation to move forward on it. This feature was tested for the first time in 2023. However, this feature was tested for only a few advertisers. The pause ad feature received positive feedback, after which it is now being released all over the world.

Through the YouTube pause ad feature, companies will be able to show their ads to people even when the video pauses. This feature is being released especially keeping in mind smart TVs. People watching smart TVs mostly pause YouTube videos in the middle to rest or do some other work. Whenever the video pauses, the ad will start appearing.

YouTube has designed this feature in such a way that there is minimal interruption while watching the video. For this, the company is working on many types of ads, such as long non-skippable ads, branded QR code ads, picture-in-picture ads during live streams, etc.
