Bajaj Auto, one of the big automobile companies, has launched the 3201 special edition of the electric scooter Chetak. Its price is Rs 1.29 lakh (ex-showroom, Bengaluru). It will be sold only on e-commerce site Amazon this month. Some upgrades have been made in it. The company said that this is the first such collaboration between an electric vehicle company and Amazon. In this, customers will be able to buy the electric scooter online and the paper work for this will be done at the company's dealership. Recently, Bajaj Auto announced a tie-up with Flipkart for online sales of its motorcycles. The company's President, Urbanite, Eric Vas said, "We are happy to expand our partnership with Amazon. The strong metal frame of the electric Chetak brings the trust and durability to the customers that they expect from Bajaj Auto." The new Chetak 3201 Special Edition has quilted seats. Its top-end variant has Brooklyn Black paint. Its ARAI certified range is 136 km on a single charge. It can catch a top speed of 73 kmph. It has features like Bluetooth connectivity through the Chetak app, color TFT instrument console and auto hazard light. The company has said that the Chetak Premium, Chetak Urbane (3202) and the new Chetak 3201 Special Edition have received approval for the Electric Mobility Promotion Scheme (EMPS) from the Ministry of Heavy Industries of the Central Government.

Last month, Bajaj Auto launched the first CNG motorcycle Freedom 125. This motorcycle runs on petrol but it can be switched to Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) by pressing a button. The price of the base variant Drum of this motorcycle starts at around 95,000. The range of Freedom 125 is about 330 km. It has a two kg CNG tank and a two liter petrol tank. Its CNG tank is under the seat. It will be available in three variants of Drum, Drum LED and Disc LED and in seven dual-tone colors. The price of its top variant is around Rs 1.10 lakh (ex-showroom). This year the company also plans to introduce a 400 cc single cylinder Pulsar.
