Brzoska, the founder of parcel locker firm InPost, said he had informed Meta about the problem in July but the company has failed to resolve it.

Meta, the US company that runs social media platforms Facebook and Instagram, may face trouble due to fake advertisements. Polish billionaire Rafal Brzoska and his wife plan to file a legal case against Meta over fake advertisements on Facebook and Instagram. These ads featured Brzoska's face and gave false information about his wife.

These ads were circulated on social media. Rafal said he has not decided in which court he will file the case. Earlier too, complaints have been received about fake advertisements on Facebook and Instagram. In this regard, a Meta spokesperson said that the company removes fake advertisements from its platforms and works with local authorities to deal with scammers.

Brzoska, the founder of Polish parcel locker firm InPost, said he had reported the problem to Meta in July but the company had failed to resolve it. "We are planning to file a lawsuit against Meta. We have not decided in which court it will be filed. We are considering all scenarios. If action is not taken in Europe, we can also file a lawsuit in the US," he said. Brzoska said he and his wife would demand that Meta not benefit from promoting content that violates their rights. In addition, compensation equal to the amount earned from such misinformation advertisements should be donated to a charity.

Last week, the President of the Personal Data Protection Office ordered Meta Platforms Ireland Limited to block fake ads using Brzoska and his wife's real data and images on Facebook and Instagram for three months. "Scammers use every platform available to them to commit fraud and constantly adapt their methods to avoid getting caught," a Meta spokesperson said in an emailed statement. "Scam content violates our rules and we remove it when we discover it."
