If wrong payment is made through UPI then do this immediately

Between April and July 24, transactions worth 80 lakh crores were done through UPI in the country. In the era of rapidly growing digital transactions, cases of money being transferred to another person's UPI ID by mistake are coming up. In such a situation, some quick steps can save your earnings. Let's understand.
It is important to report the mistake immediately to get the funds back. Contact your bank or UPI service provider immediately. The sooner you lodge a complaint, the more likely it is that your wrong payment will be refunded. If you delay in complaining, it is also possible that your payment will not be refunded.
Share the transaction details including the wrong UPI ID, amount and date with your bank or UPI provider. Because most banks and UPI providers have processes to deal with such disputes.
If possible, contact the person to whom you have made the payment by mistake. Politely explain the mistake and request a refund. This can get the fastest solution. Here you have to take full care of decency.
If other methods fail, complain to NPCI, which oversees the UPI system. It will investigate and resolve the issue. You can complain 24×7 by visiting the NPCI website or calling its toll free number 1800-120-1740.
