Ola's AI chip will be launched in 2026

Ola Electric launched its first electric motorcycle in India on 15 August. The Ola Electric Roadster lineup includes three models - Roadster, Roadster Pro and Roadster X. The company says that these models will be made available next year. In a statement to a media publication on the occasion of the launch, Ola CEO and co-founder said that Ola Electric Artificial Intelligence (AI) is very important for India. He said that in order to control technology in the times to come, the country needs to build the future on its own terms.
Bhavish Aggarwal spoke to TOI about the importance of AI in India after the launch of the Ola Electric Roadster lineup. Aggarwal said that the country will have to move towards artificial technology to control technology. He also indicated that if this does not happen, foreign companies will continue to take advantage of Indian talent.
He said in his statement, "Otherwise, we will remain a monthly active user farm for global companies." He has also revealed that his AI company Krutrim is working on building India's first AI silicon chip by 2026. If successful, it will give Ola a chance to compete with companies like Nvidia, AMD and Intel. Ola has announced strategic partnerships with chip design company ARM and Canadian AI company Untether AI to build chips. Krutrim's initial chips include Bodhi for AI, Sarv for basic computing and Ojas for heavy computing.
