Wikipedia is used by millions of people around the world. It is an open website where anyone can update information. The platform has been available for free use for a long time, but now the platform has started taking money from users.

On the other hand, the platform may have to bear the brunt of the ongoing tussle between Wikipedia and the Delhi High Court. These days there are many news about the ban of Wikipedia in India. Let us know what is the future of Wikipedia in India and why this controversy started.

Wikipedia, formed by the words Wiki and Encyclopedia, provides information to users for free, questions also keep arising on its information. Recently, the Delhi High Court said that if you do not like India, you can leave India. Actually, the root of this controversy is the editing of ANI's Wikipedia page.

Since anyone can edit Wikipedia, it is also easy to give wrong information here. Someone wrongly edited ANI's Wikipedia page and called the news agency ANI a 'propaganda tool' of the government. The court said that the names of the people who edited the Wikipedia page should be disclosed. However, Wikipedia refused to do so. After which the court severely reprimanded Wikipedia.

After all this, difficulties seem to be arising for Wikipedia, on one hand the court is angry with this act and on the other hand Wikipedia has now started taking money for providing information. Wikipedia collects information from Google and other sources and provides it to the users.

The foundation of Wikipedia was laid in the year 2001. Its founder was Jimmy Wales Larry Sanger. In the year 2003, it was also launched in Hindi. According to information, every month 1.7 billion users use Wikipedia for information.
